Bio: 2017 The Year of My Continuing Transformation - A Weight Loss Journey I began this blog in January 2016. I titled it "2016 The Year of My New Beginning - A Weight Loss Journey" because I had decided to make 2016 the year I actually buckled down to lose the 100+ pounds I need to lose. Well, I was not successful in losing a lot of weight. As a fact, I have only lost 5.6 pounds (2.54 kg) since I started weighing myself on 19 January 2016. During the course of 2016, I had many ups and downs. Along the way, I learned quite a few things about myself and some things I already knew but had finally sunk in. So, I am taking what I learned in 2016 and applying them to 2017. Hence the updated title, "2017 The Year of My Continuing Transformation." I am a Marine, Mom, Wife (in that order). I spent 13 years as an Active Duty Marine. While on Active Duty, I married, had two children, divorced, and had one more child. After being Honorably Discharged way back at the end of the 20th Century, I met my current husband. I have been out longer than I was on Active Duty and have been married to my current husband for almost two decades now. It really amazes me at how much time has actually passed. I have made the public declaration that 2016 is the Year of My New Beginning. It is not the first year of my Weight Loss Journey, though. The Weight Loss Journey has been an off/on/off/on/off/off/off/on/off journey for at least 15 years. Weight has been a battle I have fought for well over 38 years. I am going to use blogging as a means of both accountability and motivation. It will help to keep me accountable. This will allow me to connect with others who may be on a similar journey. My end desire is to be able to help another who may be facing similar struggles. Helping another will motivate me and help me with mine.
